Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement

The Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement is dedicated to celebrating all forms of diversity. The Assistant Director for Sexual/Gender Diversity works specifically with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer/Questioning populations here at UNC Charlotte. IEE offers programming, training, and support for the LGBTQ Community. 

LGBT Based Student Orginzations 

UNC Charlotte has several student orginzations dedicated for students who identify within the LGBT comunity or are exploring their identities. Please go to Niner Engage to learn more. 


Trans at UNC Charlotte is a web resource operated by the Office of Identity, Equity and Engagement that contains information, UNC Charlotte policies, and support for Trans Students.  Additionally you can find links to national Trans organizations and a UNC Charlotte restroom guide. 

Center for Counseling and Psychological Services

The Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers individual and group counseling to any interested enrolled student.  Students can have up to 12 free sessions and unlimited group counseling.  All of the full time counselors at the CAPS are Safe Zone Allies.  Additionally several counselors have specific training in working with the LGBTQ Community. 

Dean of Students

Dean of Students / Office of Student Conduct is a safe place for students to report bias incidents or hate crimes.  The Dean of Students Office can also provide assistance with missing classes or withdrawling from the University. 

Student Health Center

Student Health Center has several “LGBTQ Friendly” health care providers.  Some of these individuals are also Safe Zone Allies, but some are just self-identified as “friendly.”
